AFT EVENT OVERVIEW
3-rep max using a 60-lb hex bar. Tests posterior-chain strength. Min passing: 150 lbs (General, male 22-26). Must be performed with proper form.
Max reps in 2 minutes. Hands fully release from ground at bottom. Tests upper body & core endurance. Min passing: ~14 reps (varies by age/gender).
50m course: sprint, drag sled, lateral, carry kettlebells, sprint back. Tests anaerobic capacity & combat movement. Lower time = higher score.
Hold standard plank position. Measures core stability & endurance. Scored by time held. Min passing: ~1:25 (varies by age/gender).
Standard two-mile run for time. Tests aerobic endurance & cardiovascular fitness. Lower time = higher score. Min passing: ~19:45 (varies).

Army Fitness Test (AFT) Score Calculator

The 5 AFT Events
1. MDL — Maximum Deadlift
The Maximum Deadlift measures total-body strength and posterior-chain power. Soldiers perform a 3-repetition maximum lift using a standard hex bar and weighted plates.

2. HRP — Hand-Release Push-Up
The Hand-Release Push-Up measures upper-body muscular endurance and trunk stability. Both hands must fully release from the ground during each repetition.

3. SDC — Sprint-Drag-Carry
The Sprint-Drag-Carry tests anaerobic endurance, explosive movement, agility, and combat readiness.

The General Standard uses age- and sex-based scoring tables.
Combat MOS Standard
Combat MOS scoring is sex-neutral. Men and women in the same age group must meet identical performance standards.

AFT vs. ACFT — Major Changes
- The Standing Power Throw (SPT) was removed
- The AFT now contains 5 events instead of 6
- Maximum score changed from 600 to 500
- Combat MOS minimum increased from 300 to 350 points
- Combat MOS scoring became sex-neutral
- Administrative actions for AFT failures begin January 1, 2026

Can I use the calculator on mobile devices?

Do I need to enter all 5 events?
No. You can enter individual events independently, but all five events are required for a complete pass/fail result.
Why did I fail even though my total score was high?
Every event requires a minimum score of 60 points. Failing any single event results in an overall failure.
Does gender affect Combat MOS scoring?
No. Combat MOS scoring standards are sex-neutral.
